Now online, daily posts of BUONGIORNO, BELLEZZITALIA and IL GRAFFIO and weekly posts of IL LIBRO PER VOI, IL WEEKEND SPORTIVO, LA COPERTINA STORICA and LA RICETTA DELLA DOMENICA.
Il CITTADINO CANADESE has been telling the story of the Italian Community in Montreal since 1941. It has been through wars and economic crises, witnessed epochal turning points and accompanied at least 5 generations of Italian-Canadians. Each time, interpreting the times with a critical spirit and unconditional faith in progress. Without ever backing down. With a two-pronged approach, we have kept our sense of belonging to Italy intact, while at the same time promoting integration into Canadian society. We have covered the events of Quebec and Canada, without ever neglecting the events of Italy.
We became Canadians while remaining Italian. Canadians by passport (unfortunately, many have lost their Italian citizenship), but Italians in our hearts and souls. With the digital revolution of the new millennium, accelerated by the pandemic, the economic crisis of recent months and now the war in Ukraine, il CITTADINO CANADESE is facing a new challenge: to tell the story of Italy, the community, Quebec, Canada, the world, by using new communication technologies, social media.
In addition to being a printed paper, which remains the main means of dissemination, il CITTADINO CANADESE is launching itself into the digital world. To intercept the younger public, the readers of tomorrow. To feed a daily dialogue with our readers. And it is in the wake of this digitalization process that the CITTADINO CANADESE is increasingly a protagonist on FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM and LINKEDIN.
Every day, on all platforms, il CITTADINO CANADESE is present with three posts: IL BUONGIORNO, a greeting to readers with a light news that, with a tone often ironic and playful, however, induces a deep reflection; BELLEZZITALIA, which aims to revive the beauty, the cultural wealth, craftsmanship and landscape of the peninsula. To travel with the mind and begin to plan the next trip; the DIRECTOR’S GRAFFIO, a brief comment, often sharp and witty, on the main news of the day.
As of this week, IL CITTADINO has 4 online features: On Thursday, IL LIBRO PER VOI (A BOOK FOR YOU), with suggestions of new readings that may intrigue you. On Friday, IL WEEKEND SPORTIVO (WEEKEND OF SPORT), with the main sporting events of Saturday and Sunday, from soccer to field hockey, from Formula One to basketball or tennis; on Saturday LA COPERTINA STORICA (THE HISTORICAL COVER), to dive into the past and relive the events that took place in the same days of a few decades ago; and on Sunday LA RICETTA DELLA DOMENICA (THE SUNDAY RECIPE), with the recommendation of a typical dish to share with your family the unmistakable flavours of our tricolour roots.
A thank you to all the companies and collaborators who support us in print and on social media.
